Processing times

After you submit a flight, our team and photogrammetry pipeline turn your photos into 3D models and volume measurements. Here’s what to expect while you wait.

How long does it take?

Turnaround varies from flight to flight — photo set size, site complexity, and queue volume all affect it. Your measurements appear in your account as soon as processing completes.

Need results urgently? Contact us at [email protected] with your farm, site, and date flown, and we’ll do our best to prioritize your flight.

What happens during processing

  1. Validation. Your images are checked for completeness and GPS data. Flights that fail validation are rejected with an error — see Troubleshoot uploads.
  2. Photogrammetry. The overlapping photos are stitched into a detailed, georeferenced 3D model of your site.
  3. Measurement. Each pile, bunk, and bag is identified and measured, producing a volume for every feed location.
  4. Publishing. The measurements and models are attached to your farm, site, and date flown, and appear in your account.

When your flight is ready

Once processing finishes, your results show up in the Inventory pages:

  1. Open Inventory or Inventory V2 (Beta) from the sidebar.
  2. Select the Farm, Site, and Date matching your upload.
  3. Review each measured location. New locations will prompt you to add missing feed information (feed type, density, dry matter) so tonnage can be calculated — see Edit inventory records.

If you enabled email alerts in your settings (Receive email alerts on the Settings page), you can also be notified about account activity — see Profile and settings.

Tips for faster, smoother processing

  • Follow flight best practices. Good overlap and full coverage mean no back-and-forth about gaps in the model. See Flight best practices.
  • Upload promptly. Submitting your flight the day you fly keeps the date flown accurate and your inventory timeline current.
  • Use consistent farm and site names. Matching names to previous flights lets your new measurements connect directly to your existing records and forecasts.
  • One flight per upload. Keep each upload to a single farm, site, and date.

My flight seems stuck

If it’s been longer than you expected and your measurements haven’t appeared:

  • Confirm the upload completed — you should have seen the “Upload Submitted Successfully” confirmation after submitting.
  • Check that you’re looking at the right Farm, Site, and Date in the inventory filters.
  • Still nothing? Email [email protected] with your farm name, site name, and date flown, and we’ll check the status of your flight.

While you wait, it’s a good time to set up your forecasts or explore Measure & Create.
