SilagePlan is a feed inventory platform for farms. You fly a drone over your silage piles, bunks, and bags, upload the photos, and SilagePlan turns them into accurate volume measurements, tonnage estimates, and feed-out forecasts — no climbing on piles with a tape measure.
How it works, end to end
- Fly your drone. Capture overlapping photos of your feed storage areas with any pro-sumer drone that has a good camera and GPS — DJI Mavic, Phantom, and Air series and Autel Evo series all work well. See Drone and camera requirements.
- Upload the images. Log in to app.silageplan.com and use the upload page to submit your flight photos, tagged with the farm, site, and date flown. See Upload a drone flight.
- We process the flight. Photogrammetry software stitches your photos into a detailed 3D model of each pile and calculates its volume. Your results appear in your account once processing completes — see Processing times.
- Review your inventory. Volumes are combined with feed type, density, and dry matter information to give you tons of feed on hand for every pile, bunk, and bag. See the Inventory page overview.
- Forecast your feed-out. Based on your inventory and daily usage, SilagePlan projects runout dates for each feed so you can plan purchases and harvests ahead of time. See Create a forecast.

Because measurements come from a 3D model rather than length-times-width estimates, you get consistent, repeatable numbers. Fly again after a few weeks of feeding and SilagePlan can also measure usage and track shrink — the feed you lose to spoilage between harvest and feed-out.

- 2.5D Map & Inventory Subscription (monthly or annual, 7-day free trial) — create and measure silage structures on a satellite map, no drone required. Drone uploads are not part of this plan.
- Pay-Per-Upload — pay for each drone flight you submit for processing, with no monthly commitment.
- Enterprise — for teams and multi-farm operations, with roles, team management, and Flight Hub.
